Amanda has been a Registered Nurse since 2006 and a Registered Midwife since 2008. She qualified as an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2019 and prides herself on practicing with a whole person, woman centred approach.  Amanda is committed to providing evidence-based breastfeeding help and support to Canberra mums.

Amanda is also a mother of 3 amazing children and it was a combination of her own birth experiences and her experiences as a midwife, that gave her the push to become a Certified Hypnobirthing Australia™ Practitioner.  Amanda thoroughly believes that birth can, and should, be a positive and empowering experience for all women, regardless of how a baby is born.  Amanda recognises how imperative antenatal education and preparation is, and the profound role that this plays in a woman’s birth experience.  She is passionate about working with women and their support people to aid in achieving optimal and satisfying birth experiences, Amanda has seen the incredible impact of the Positive Birth Program in women she has cared for during labour and birth, and believes that all women should have access to this mode of antenatal education.
